" summary

Geomena is an open WiFi geolocation database that claims coverage for millions of access points and exposes a writable API so developers can build tools to collect and update SSID-to-coordinate records. The project is licensed like Wikipedia and is editable/downloadable like OpenStreetMap, already usable as a location provider in Firefox, and positioned as a crowdsourced alternative to Google, Skyhook and Wigle rather than a closed commercial lookup service.
