Context-Aware Online Adaptation of Mixed Reality Interfaces
summary
An optimization system automatically chooses which MR apps appear, whether they are world-anchored or view-anchored, and their level of detail using integer linear programming combined with rule-based decisions; implemented in Unity/SteamVR with the Gurobi solver and eye-tracked cognitive load from Pupil Labs IPA. Prototype solves 12 elements with five detail levels in ~7 ms (estimated 200 apps ≈ 40 ms) and a 12-user dual-task study shows 36% fewer interactions versus manual control.
