MEGALON implements a split metadata sharing design: large, rarely updated indexes are replicated in local DRAM while small, hot coherence records live in the small coherent region (SCR). It adds a CXL-backed shared log (only head/tail in SCR) for index ordering and a dual‑pass coherence check so allocations/deallocations remain correct. On a key‑value benchmark with 200 MB SCR and up to 24M objects MEGALON boosts throughput ≈10× over prior HC‑meta and still shows an 8.4× advantage at 32 MB SCR.
