Miro runs a third‑party WCAG 2.1 audit that finds over 300 issues and remediates fixed over 95%, publishing a VPAT-style accessibility conformance report at miro.com/accessibility. The product team reimplements keyboard and ARIA support for an HTML canvas: linearization by vertical‑overlap grouping, container “frame” hierarchy with Cmd+Arrow and Cmd+Shift+Down/Up shortcuts, and direction search using an angle‑weighted distance metric. Screen reader output uses a single live region approach (better performance and collaborator announcements). Also: reduced motion, color tooltips, common palette, background colors, an automated checker, sound experiments and AI clustering.
