State of IBM POWER Support on FreeBSD
summary
FreeBSD ports are rebuilt on a POWER9 server and many failing builds are fixed, with work covering powerpc, powerpcspe and powerpc64 and endian issues (FreeBSD remains big-endian on most POWER hardware). The ports tree now builds about 25–29k packages on POWER after fixes. Toolchain migration from GCC 4.2 to LLVM is imminent, 32-bit linker support and some Node.js patches remain, and basic hardware works: Radeon driver up to HD7000 (no acceleration), HDMI audio, USB, and ZFS root with custom install.
