Heads-Up Augmented Reality for Dismounted Tactical Operations
summary
ARC4 is a fielded heads-up AR system that overlays geo-registered icons locked to real-world features, lets users query items by gaze, and shares persistent marks across a team. It fuses inertial sensors, GPS, digital terrain data and vision-based terrain matching to give low-latency, high-accuracy head pose outdoors without fiducials, and runs on see-through displays and night-vision goggles. Integrated with DARPA, USAF special ops and Army Net Warrior; soldier trials planned.
