Announces the Delivery of a Live UHD/HDR NHL Game
summary
DirecTV attempts a live 4K/HDR NHL game on December 14, carrying Pittsburgh vs. Vegas via two regional sports networks and aiming for a true broadcast decode rather than a proof of concept. Set-top box work had paused after a new UI rollout caused issues; software for HDR and Atmos capability is restarted and scheduled for deployment this week. Expect an operational set-top box software deployment that enables native UHD/HDR playback.
