Ported MVVM Light from a PCL to .NET Standard by creating a .NET Standard class library (aiming at 1.0 then 2.0), copying shared files, and resolving a few breaking APIs; about 90% of the work is trivial, 10% requires fixes. Removed Common Service Locator and merged assemblies, causing documented breaking changes. Verified by building a .NET Core console and running it on Linux (publish produced DLLs, ran via WSL) and deployed an ASP.NET Core site to Azure Linux via git. Used the .NET Portability Analyzer and noted 20,000 APIs added in .NET Standard 2.0 and a simple dotnet publish workflow.
