Shows three practical erase-suspend methods that pause iterative NAND erase only at safe pulse boundaries to avoid added peripheral cost and cell wear; prior arbitrary-pulse suspension causes write starvation on a production SSD. Implements immediate/mini suspend, deferred/deep suspend, and a timer-based hybrid that switches modes. Evaluated with microbenchmarks and Aerospike/TPCC workloads on modeled and real SSDs, achieving sub-200μs 99.999th percentile read tail latency for 4KB random QD16 (70% read/30% write) and about a 5x reduction in read tails on two data-center traces.
