On Sounder Ground: CAAT, a Viable Widget for Affective Reaction Assessment
summary
CAAT is a web-embeddable circumplex widget that returns a discrete emotion word plus numeric valence and arousal scores (two-word selections average their coordinates). A web study with 133 participants (106 retested after a week) uses 12 GAD-rated images and reports strong test–retest correlations, significant agreement with GAD means, and ANOVA separation of negative/neutral/positive. First-use time falls from ~28s to ~15s, so the widget is fast to learn and valid for quick affect sensing and is downloadable as a ready web widget.
