Meet Firefox OS

" summary

Live demo shows an HTML/CSS/JS open web app with a JSON manifest file, installs from Firefox to desktop, a Firefox OS phone and an Android phone, and exercises device APIs like vibration; installs succeed after a hiccup and GitHub Pages propagation delays. Firefox Marketplace is the privileged route for contacts/payments APIs. Target is low‑end first smartphones (about 60 pounds / $80), reuse existing web tooling, and file/storage and API support remain the main limitations.
