" summary

A self-taught iOS developer builds Purple Evolution (originally Purple Pocketbook), a domestic-violence app that hard-codes shelter contacts and state-by-state legal guidance, uses Objective‑C then Swift, and passes Apple review only after screen-size fixes and an Apple developer’s hands-on help. The talk gives concrete numbers — three women murdered every day in the U.S. and surprising reporting gaps — and explains why the app is now open source and seeking Android builders after early crashes and approval hassles.
