Prototype runs atop the NVMeVirt storage emulator with an emulated ARM Cortex‑A53 on‑device CPU and Intel Optane DC as backing storage, and implements hybrid resubmission that chooses between on‑device continuation and reverse offloading back to the host. On a simple B+‑tree key‑value store the on‑device function raises throughput by up to 41%, and on WiredTiger (YCSB C) it trims 99th‑percentile tail latency by up to 3.85% versus host‑only in‑kernel functions.
