Community Update: Django Events Foundation North America with Peter Grandstaff
summary
DEFNA handles conference logistics and liability, marks a 10-year milestone, and reports concrete needs: more volunteers, organizers, venue leads, and sponsors (named backers include Six Feet Up, Revys, MongoDB). Pre-conference sprints run Thursday and Friday sprints; contributors should have a local dev environment and know how to set up environment and run tests plus basic git (rebase) before claiming tickets. Django Docker box and the project’s contribution docs are the practical starting tools.
