Decentralized Search Over Decentralized Storage
summary
A lightweight decentralized storage called onmydis runs on home PCs, single board computers and even router firmware and connects out to a public Gateway that federates authentication via OrbitDB. A paired client runs a self-hosted search engine (small LLM building a knowledge tree) locally, the Gateway broadcasts search queries to clients, and clients return deep similarity results or shared links. Funded by NGI, the system already indexes Office and OpenDocument files and supports hosting apps and local LLMs; multimodal search is planned.
