PipelineDB is an open-source streaming SQL database built as a fork of PostgreSQL 9.4.4 that runs continuous SQL queries called continuous views which incrementally store only aggregate transition state, use a circular shared-memory stream buffer that blocks writers when full, and merge micro-batch partials with on-disk state via combiners. It ships probabilistic structures (top-k, cardinality with <1% error), offers a Kafka extension for durable offsets, claims typical throughput from 250 to over 1M events/sec, and is GPLv3 on GitHub.
