summary
Two case studies show concrete moves: Volvo spins up an OSPO in 2022, ships nine projects and an award winning internal portal, embeds license checks into CI and trains champions (~1 per 500 devs) to cut friction; Amazon runs open source for 70–80k developers, centralizes tooling into a central CI pipeline (60–70% adoption), handles ~17,000 annual tickets and aims to automate them to zero. Both teams report progress but note SBOM / SPDX gaps and ongoing automation work.
