Introduction & Opening Remarks
Lightningat Open Source Summit North America 2018 · on Wednesday, 2018-08-29· at 17:00· West Ballroom A/B·
summary
Lightning opening gives a casual preview of the week with a rapid lineup of short intros and the first handful of speakers, setting expectations for session formats and timing and noting that a co-chair runs the second half. Topics called out by name include deep learning, Java runtimes, remote DMA, and the intent is breadth not depth so attendees sample new areas, session lengths are short, and followup talks dive into implementation details.
