summary
Zowe is an Open Mainframe Project platform that open sources three open-sourced components: a set of REST APIs exposing z/OS functions, a browser UI window manager that replaces 3270 green screens, and a CLI (Node client) that runs on the desktop. IBM CA and Rocket contributions mediate proprietary interfaces into standard microservices; the stack uses REST-backed microservices on z/OS. The project claims faster change cycles and easier access for modern dev workflows and is available now.
