Greenkeeper – managing dependencies with confidence

Talkat npm camp 2016 · on Saturday, 2016-07-30· [devops-and-delivery, developer-experience]

Greenkeeper automates dependency upkeep by watching the npm change feed and using the npm skimdb to detect publishes, then creating branches and pull requests via the GitHub git data API without cloning repos. It distinguishes in-range updates (creates a branch, checks CI, opens a PR only if tests fail) from out-of-range bumps, cleans up obsolete PRs, and exposes a web UI. Built-as-a-service for real projects (Hoodie) and live at app.greenkeeper.io, it reduces manual churn but surfaces noisy failures when tests are flaky.
