Welcome to Heart of Clojure 2024
summary
A claim backed by a 2019 paper argues conferences create indeterminate and consequential moments when a special setting, collective effervescence, and diverse attendees collide, producing unexpected turning points but also higher chance of transgressions. Practical fixtures include a live schedule and signup tool Compass (compass.heartofclojure) plus a collaborative wiki with safety contacts and lockers, enforcement via the Berlin code of conduct, and on-site details like beer alcohol percentages posted so attendees can choose lower‑ABV options and stay present.
