summary
The department of engineering thanks organizers and participants and emphasizes ongoing commitment to education, research and industry collaboration, while noting that all department classes are canceled for the day and multiple course sections accept postponement to let students attend; a small number of parallel academic meetings cause unavoidable absences, and coordination with external colleagues including Michael Hicks makes the disruption manageable.
