" summary

Opera Mini is a proxy browser used by 350 million people that renders sites server‑side, compresses pages about 90% compression, and served 23 PB last month at 120,000 transactions/sec. Independent tests in India show 89% data savings and ~14% lower battery use. Developers must use progressive enhancement: HTML content, CSS for design, limited JS (Opera runs scripts only ~5s), no webfonts, no gradients; support installable web apps and service workers and responsive images to reach these users.
