A full backend rewrite replaces Python 2 and App Engine with a Swift service running on Kubernetes on AWS using Vapor, Aurora MySQL, Redis and Lambdas for email parsing, built with GitHub Actions and Terraform. The codebase is about 30,000 lines of Swift, produces a ~60 MB binary and handles ~500 requests per second at peak. Chaos testing and JSON logging to CloudWatch prove resilience; production runs stable for 10 months after two years of internal use.
