The story of a postponed conference
summary
Organizers decide to postpone Lead Dev New York and London, cite insurance excluding communicable diseases and refund liabilities, and assemble contingencies: backup A/V team, backup host, videographer, event manager and support staff, extra cleaning, signage, sanitizer stations and a medical officer. A 13-person team pulls together a two-day online conference Lead Dev Live in under four weeks, reaches out to 40 speakers, gains sponsors Honeycomb.io and CircleCI.com and runs a live stream directed from London 3,500 miles away.
