Laravel Herd, Laravel 11, Laravel Folio, Laravel Volt
summary
Announces a new macOS app that installs PHP, Composer and the Laravel installer bundled (no Homebrew), exposes projects automatically and runs from the menu bar: Laravel Herd bundles PHP and Composer with no Homebrew. Previews Laravel 11’s lean skeleton: middleware files removed in favor of bootstrap registration, config cascades with an Artisan config:publish, and sub‑minute scheduler granularity. Shows folio page-based routing with bracketed filenames, scoped child model binding, and optional route opt‑ins. Demonstrates volt single-file Livewire components (state, provide, validation, query‑string sync, testable) working live. Folio/Volt release next week; Herd available now; Laravel 11 this winter.
