State of jQuery - Part 3 - jQuery UI
summary
jQuery UI ships a 1.9 beta released after eight milestone builds, bringing approximately 2098 commits, 201 tickets and a promise that 1.8 behavior coexists via a back-compat layer preserves 1.8. Accordion, autocomplete and tabs receive full accessibility and bug cleanups; new widgets include menu, spinner and tooltip; infrastructure gets a new website, API docs, ThemeRoller and download builder. Datepicker is a datepicker full rewrite (no compat) and interactions move to a device‑agnostic pointer/mouse layer.
