CSI: Haskell: Fault-Localization in Lazy Languages using Runtime Tracing

Talkat HIW 2022 · on Sunday, 2022-09-11
slides:none on file

CSI: Haskell extends GHC’s Haskell Program Coverage to record a recently evaluated locations trace and print a short summary with runtime errors (example: head on empty list now reports the producing function divs), plus post-processing via GHCs Trace library to build graphs. It implements a low-overhead circular buffer (demo uses a circular buffer of 250 entries), preserves HPC tick semantics, detects loops (up to five nested in the demo) and runs as two compiler flags.
