Bringing Clarity to gRPC through GoFr: The Role of Observability

Talkat Conf42 Observability 2025 · on Thursday, 2025-06-05· [microservices]
slides:none on file

Gofr claims to make gRPC observable with zero manual instrumentation: a CLI generates server scaffolding (greet.pb.go and greet_grpc.pb.go) that wires context, health checks and metrics automatically. Demo shows a bare gRPC server turned into full observability in about 5 minutes, exposes metrics at localhost:2121, auto-traces every unary call and every streaming message, records stream duration, message counts and errors, and supports Kubernetes-ready health status toggles — all working out of the box in the demo.
