My experience of doing GSoC '24 in AsyncAPI
summary
Built a Dynamic Open Graph preview for AsyncAPI Studio that generates per-URL metadata and images showing counts (servers, channels, messages) and spec version, and it successfully replaces the previous static previews. Architecture rewrites crawler requests to a minimal /a/crawler route, extracts title/description, then calls an image service on Vercel Edge runtime using the satori package with aggressive CDN caching and query-param keys. Key challenges: crawler timeouts, query-param caching, and warmup of serverless functions; unit tests use Jest.
