⚡ Lightning Talk: Unleashing the Potential of IoT Wireless Devices with Kubernetes at Edge
Lightningat Kubernetes on Edge Day NA 2023 · on Monday, 2023-11-06· at 12:10· W192abc, McCormick Place·
summary
Extends Project Flotta extension to manage resource‑constrained IoT end nodes that cannot run Kubernetes directly by adding a controller and an AutoConfig custom resource that automates registration, configuration and workload scheduling through gateway/sidecar proxies. Uses standard wireless links such as Wi‑Fi and BLE to connect tiny sensors, converts heterogeneous protocols into a unified device model, and demonstrates automated device onboarding and deployment with two container workloads running on an edge device.
